Our Joyful Collection bringing joy for Pride Month: Supporting MindOut

By Iona Bower on

This Pride Month, celebrate with some joyful colour and do your bit for the LGBTQ+ community's mental health, too.

Colour isn’t so much about how things look as how things feel, and all of our YesColours collections are made beginning with the premise that they should make you smile and feel a bit excited and fuzzy inside. If there’s one collection that goes above and beyond when it comes to feelgood colour, however, we think it must be our Joyful range of paints.

The wonderful people behind MindOut are celebrating Pride not just in June, but for the whole year, every year. Their mental health counselling services and community events are of incredible importance to the LGBTQ+ community, so we've teamed up with them again to raise some money and support what they're doing.

You'll bring the noise; we'll bring the joy.

The pretty and perky Joyful Aqua, Green, Lilac, Neutral, Orange and Pink that make up the YesColours Joyful Collection are designed to have a subtle, positive effect on your wellbeing, wherever and however you use them.

We hope they evoke memories of ice-cream stands and holidays in faraway places, and that their uplifting shades will elevate your mood in every room. Maybe they can be the backdrop to joyful gatherings with friends, sharing plates of food around the kitchen table, or perhaps they’ll be the joy that starts your day with a smile as you open your eyes in bed or jump out of the shower each morning.

Our Joyful Collection aims to do exactly what it says on the tin (or, in this case, the pouch) - evoke feelings of joy, warmth, happiness and luminosity. The hues we've created here are intended to shift your space into a colour scheme that will make a gentle positive effect on how you feel. Photography: Veega Studio | Styling: Annie Fern.

Feels good to give.

As you might have picked up, we strongly feel the connection between colour and feeling good, and because the wellbeing of our whole colour community is important to us, we work with a number of mental health charities in the UK to raise awareness, give something back and perhaps make life a little better for a few people. You can read all about our charity partnerships on our website.

We’ve learned that one in five children and young adults in the UK suffers from a mental health issue in any given year, and that 70% of young people with mental health problems don’t receive intervention at an early enough stage. We want to do our bit to help change that.

Proud to be joyful.

One of our most successful collaborations has been with our friends at LGBTQ+ mental health charity, MindOut in Brighton. For last year’s Pride Month, we donated some of our profits to the charity for the whole of June. It was such a success, we’re doing it again and this Pride Month we are donating 15% of all profits from the Joyful Collection to MindOut to help fund their vital services. If you buy any of our Joyful colours this month, you’ll know you’ve spread a little joy beyond your own four walls.

Every little helps, and the work of the whole MindOut team doesn't go unnoticed by the LGBTQ+ community and their allies. We're proud to be supporting their vital mental health counselling services for a second year in a row.
