How to use our Calming Pink paint colour in your home

By Emily Harnasz on

You probably already know about our super chilled out, wildly versatile and damn right gorgeous Calming Collection... she’s a beaut right? Well, here at YesColours we believe you can never have too much of a good thing, so we've added a new member to the band; the seductively soulful, the quietly confident, the dreamy temptress that is our Calming Pink paint colour.

Her bold saturation mixed with muted undertones mean she’s an all rounder, she’s great on her own but also loves a paired back melody as well as classic heritage vibe. So let's dive right in to see how you can embrace our new paint colour in your home.

Our freshly launched Calming Pink paint colour is a powdery pink shade with dark, muted undertones to keep it grounded and not too overwhelming. It's safe to say this is the mature version, the elder sister of our bubblegum Joyful Pink colour. Hey, pink is not only for Millennials!

Drench it.

Yep, you guessed it, the colour drench, you know we love it round here. If you’ve not heard us bang on about it before, it’s essentially when you use one colour and place it everywhere; walls, ceiling, woodwork, literally everywhere. The result is an immersive, cocooning and chilled out experience that will never fail to fill you with inner peace and joy. This works phenomenally in spaces like bedrooms and living rooms where you'll likely want to chill after a long hard day.

Look above.

Your ceiling deserves some love too! If you adore colour but don’t want it everywhere, a great trick is to apply a bolder and\or darker colour to the ceiling and keep the walls lighter. This way you create a super cool feature without overbearing the space. It also gives the illusion the ceiling is lower, so it's great for you period property pals who want a cosier feel.

Pair a Calming Pink ceiling with our Calming Neutral paint colour on walls for a chilled out palette that would be perfect in kids bedrooms or dining rooms alike.

Tone up.

It’s been said that familiarity breeds contempt, but there's a lot of things we don’t listen to here at YesColours, and sometimes all you need is a scheme full of tonal harmony to bring a little comfort and peace to a home. So we say, why not give Calming Pink a go with our beloved Loving Pink and Mellow Pink paint shades and put her back where she belongs with her perfect pink partners.

This vibe is cohesive, it's stylish, it's ‘neighbourly’ and we absolutely adore it. Definitely one for you heritage hunnies out there.

This pink shade is called 'Calming Pink' for a reason. A perfect, chilled out addition to the rest of the pinks in our paint colour palette.

Go for broke.

Calling all risk takers, the ones standing out from the crowd, the rulebreakers doing it their way: go all in and mix our Calming Pink with some of our bold and show-stopping paint colours! Take, for example, our confident, self aware Passionate Lilac alongside our rejuvenating Joyful Green. This paint colour combo creates a delightfully dynamic, design led scheme that will ignite the imagination and catapult your individuality to a new level of awesomeness.

In any scheme like this, be sure to utilise all surfaces; pick out window recesses, ceilings, alcoves, door frames, furniture, anything that may otherwise be forgotten and bring it to life with an unexpected splash of YesColours magic.

Au naturel.

Prefer a more nature inspired environment? Calming Pink can still deliver here too. Use in smaller quantities such as woodwork or furniture with Serene Green or Calming Green on walls for a more earthy and biophilia inspired scheme. Don’t forget your green planty friend, they want in on the action too. Namaste.

This cuddly, affectionate and playful colour is now lovingly prepped and ready for you to embrace in your home, so what are you waiting for!
